Casa Ybel Wedding 2/27/09

Casa Ybel Resort would like to congratulate Sashsa and Anjali Katsnelson, who tied the knot our beautiful beach today, February 27, 2009 at 3:00pm. This beautiful couple came to us through Patricia Slater, a local officiate and wedding planner on the island. ( This couple brought a new angle to a beach wedding, by bringing in a traditional Hindu Priest, to host a Hindu Indian wedding. Not often we get to witness one of these stunning ceremonies in a beach location! The day turned out just perfectly, the weather was perfect and the water on Sanibel was crystal clear today This wedding was full of great touches to celebrate the couples culture, as well as respect their traditions. They took our four post bamboo-chiffon arch, and added a twist by decorating it with beautiful silks and charms to make it more traditional.

The centerpieces were made with fresh limes, decorated with purple hydrangea and surronded by candles. The couple collected seashells directly from the beaches of Sanibel, which were then used as place cards for each guest, with the guests names written on them. The table names were based on the seven Seas of China. The couple brought in candies and chocolates from India for the guests.
The cake was an amazing three tiered chocolate and bronze dusted cake with fresh orchids, done by Masons Bakery ( Our Chef's created a great menu full of traditional Indian entrees, and other menu items with a Sanibel flare. All in all, this was a great day, with a very happy couple! Congratulations again to Sasha and Anjali!

Casa Ybel Attends Bridal Blast and We Wed Brunch and Workshops

The gals here in the Catering Department at Casa Ybel Resort have been busy bees this week! Aside from the day to day craziness around here, we have been attending Bridal Expo's, workshops, and gearing up for a busy Spring wedding season. Jessica and I attended the Annual NAWP Bridal Blast! at Germain Arena this last Sunday, February 23rd. We had a blast (no pun intended) and met a lot of potential clients. Thank you to all who attended for making this one of the best Bridal Shows I have seen in a long time. I look forward to hopefully getting the chance to work with each and every one of the lovely couples we got to meet, and wish the best of luck to all couples who attended!

I also had the pleasure of attending the We Wed Brunch and Workshops, ( hosted by the beautiful and talented Mrs. Kelly McWilliams. ( It was a fantastic workshop, with the best of the best of Southwest Florida Wedding Professionals in attendance. It was so nice seeing everyone again, meeting new vendors that I have not yet had the chance to work with, and learning a great deal from Kelly. Can't wait for the next one!

If you missed us at the NAWP Bridal Blast, be sure to check us out at the Cape Coral Wedding Expo 2009. It is being hosted at the Cape Coral Yacht Club on Sunday, March 8, 2009. We are excited to be joining in on this show and hope to see another great turn out!
