Casa Ybel Wedding 2/27/09

Casa Ybel Resort would like to congratulate Sashsa and Anjali Katsnelson, who tied the knot our beautiful beach today, February 27, 2009 at 3:00pm. This beautiful couple came to us through Patricia Slater, a local officiate and wedding planner on the island. (http://www.sanibelcaptivaweddings.com/) This couple brought a new angle to a beach wedding, by bringing in a traditional Hindu Priest, to host a Hindu Indian wedding. Not often we get to witness one of these stunning ceremonies in a beach location! The day turned out just perfectly, the weather was perfect and the water on Sanibel was crystal clear today This wedding was full of great touches to celebrate the couples culture, as well as respect their traditions. They took our four post bamboo-chiffon arch, and added a twist by decorating it with beautiful silks and charms to make it more traditional.

The centerpieces were made with fresh limes, decorated with purple hydrangea and surronded by candles. The couple collected seashells directly from the beaches of Sanibel, which were then used as place cards for each guest, with the guests names written on them. The table names were based on the seven Seas of China. The couple brought in candies and chocolates from India for the guests.
The cake was an amazing three tiered chocolate and bronze dusted cake with fresh orchids, done by Masons Bakery (http://www.masonsbakery.com/). Our Chef's created a great menu full of traditional Indian entrees, and other menu items with a Sanibel flare. All in all, this was a great day, with a very happy couple! Congratulations again to Sasha and Anjali!
